St Francois est très très jolie!
Helped Tina (classmate in ECAL) move from her old apartment to her new one today. I love her place!! It's small (cosy), livable for one person, and in an amazingly beautiful neighbourhood. I mean, come on, it's right in the centre of Lausanne!! City centre with all the ornate building decor.. what more could u ask.
What's more, the building has an open rooftop and you can walk out onto the roof and overlook Lausanne city!! Could also see the infamous Lausanne Cathedral from there. If only i had an open rooftop. hah
As a token for us helping her move, Tina made us a German lunch. Basically it's bread, eggs, meat (bacon, i think) and some spices all rolled into a ball and boiled, then lathered with delish gravy and carrots at the side. YUMMAFABULOUS! We also had really fragrant and aromatic white wine, which was made at her home..........???? I mean she has a vineyard at home, where there're also cherries and pears and apples and what-nots. How cool is that. Seriously.
After eating, we helped to move her stuff to her new place, with 2 cars. She had alot of stuff for just one person. haha. But she also had alot of interesting stuff. All these in the pics uploaded on Facebook. OH. She has 2 Pantone chairs!!! They are designer chairs btw, and worth more than anything i've ever owned. AND she got them @ 50 Euros for THREE of them from a family who didn't realise the value of these chairs. Totally awesome.
Well anyway after moving her stuff successfully, we had coffee, tea and orange juice near the Cathedral since her new place is near there. The most expensive glass of orange juice i've ever had. C'est très très cher!!! We sat outside a café, which was belle beacoup! Since it's a Sunday, the streets are quieter, which made the evening all the more laid-back and pretty. LOVE St Francois.
Well that coffee session marked the end of today. After today, i'm convinced that i want to work and possibly live in Europe if i can. Love the place, the people are real friendly, and really so much more.
Anyway went to Cook's and Jagger's (a club) last night. Hrm apparently they've got 2 kinds of clubs here. One which is like a daily kind of discotheque, where they play popular old-school rock songs as well as 70's songs, mixed in with several pop songs. Kinda cool, very different from Singapore's clubs.
Then there's the clubs where you may be denied entry if you look drunk or whatever other reasons. The kinds that are slightly elitist, and people go there more for the music, where famous and celebrated DJs make their appearances. Supposed to go for one this coming Sat where DJ Jaochim Garraud will be mixing. Wanna go but too tired of going every week. Hah.
School is beginning to be real fun. Getting to know more classmates everyday, and more and more invitations to people's houses! More local cuisine from our classmates. =)
J'aime beacoup Lausanne. =)
