Road Trip!

Went on a semi-road trip in Switzerland on sat n sunday. Was pretty fun. Had loads of havoc-ness and burst-ing, especially a car tyre, which almost made me think we were gonna be stranded about 2 hrs away from home. But in the end luck came through, when we had a god-send: this man who came out of his home to check out what happened n helped us change the tyre.

Went to several places in Switz, incuding Lucarno (James Bond's Dam), Schaffhausen (Rhine Falls), Chur (star-gazing), Bellinzona (UNESCO heritage castle), etc.. oh and of course Zurich where our road trip kind of started.

Met up with Yushan for this trip, and got to know Jiahui, Paul and Muthu, who when combined, gave me one of the more memorable trips. Of course Easter in London was still the best. Well i'm glad i got to meet them, part of making more friends on SEP right?

And then there's the Peugeot ad photoshoot.. Just look at yu shan. haha

can't get myself to sit down n think through my concepts. So fustrating. nothing good coming out of the thing i call a brain.

Gonna bring Yushan and her friends around in Lausanne tmr, then taking a train to meet them in Zurich at night. So gotta think about my conceptssss. Man oh man i gotta work..

Been having several cheese eating sessions these past 2 weeks. Last monday when to Cafe l'Eveche for cheese fondue, then had Raclette the next day at Laure's, and 2 days ago had cheese fondue courtesy of my housemate, and gonna have one again tonight for Dom Poon who's staying here. I'm gonna turn out holey by the end of this week. HAH

And here's the recorded evidence.....

@ Cafe l'Eveche

Raclette @ Laure's

and Fondue Fromage @ my apartment

been eating so much i feel so bloated and round, but still can't stop snacking on cheeses n chocolate. Need more self-control here. Never needed it more in my life. i mean what do you think of when u hear Swiss, other than German-speaking yodling countrypeople with women donning pigtails as the latest fashion. Answer: CHEESE and CHOCOLATE. the 2 things i have a real weakness for, with chocolates being the first.

Anyway gotta work now before the others come back and we start our cheese fondue session.

revamped template

Yea well ugly-ass template but at least now everybody can read right?? haha.. anyway no idea what happened to my chatbox.. only dates to 2006.... HRM. just keep posting msgs and make it look updated yea? haha

Gotta get back to my spaghetti project. more pics next time i blog.. OH and go look at facebook for my Milano pics. =D

A joke about slinkys....

A man has two sons...

To one son he gives land and sky and cash and pigs and cows and asparagus and water and women and dogs and birds and sheep and computers and megaphones and walkie-takies and make-up and CDs and CD cleaners and weapons and paints and easels and pencils and stationary and paper and geese.

To the other son he gave only a tangled slinky.

In the end it was easier for the first son to go to the kingdom of heaven than it is for the second son to untangle that slinky.

Gonna be doing a project on Slinky (maybe). You should remember this toy

Well anyway B, remember you were telling me about the song for Slinky? Think i stumbled upon the lyrics. haha

What walks down stairs, alone or in pairs,
And makes a slinkity sound?
A spring, a spring, a marvellous thing,
Everyone knows it's Slinky ...
Its Slinky, it's Slinky,
For fun it's a wonderful toy,
It's Slinky, it's Slinky,
It's fun for a girl and a boy."

long long looong time since i posted. but anyway since i realised my mum still reads my blog, here's some update!

Finished my swarovski project about 1 week ago, and got my prototype model back from the manufacturing company outside of school. and here are the pics!!

Ok this thing is supposed to be the swarovski crystal. Imagine it being a crimson red crystal..

... and the knife is stainless steel.

Well so basically the crystal can be slotted into the handle of the knife, while acting as a knife holder when not using the knife.

My initial concept is that of a set of cutlery (with a knife) that can be used as a pair of chopsticks, so for example the knife was supposed to be able to be split in two, to form a pair of chopsticks. Then the red crystal thing acts as both a fastener when not using the utensil as a chopstick, and a cutlery holder (like how some chinese restaurants have the chopstick resting thing).

So i'm a little disappointed that my concept trickled down to this, but still it looks good. HAH patting myself on the back there.

Anyway will be going to Milan tomorrow morning! can't wait. will be going to Venice for a day trip, probably by myself, since the other 2 are going to Rome, and i will be going there with Marcus already.

And to Mandae and Anne, i will scout around for the Vita bracelet there. Sooooo pretty! haha.. i wanna get one too. =D

Weather here's been pretty erratic. Within 15 mins it could change between a bright and sunny day, and a wet and rainy one. Though on Sunday the weather held up, and i went running by Lac Leman (aka Lake Geneva) on Sunday morning. Gosh it's absolutely wonderful running there! Imagine running along the lake, which is just 5 metres away from you.

St Francois est très très jolie!

Helped Tina (classmate in ECAL) move from her old apartment to her new one today. I love her place!! It's small (cosy), livable for one person, and in an amazingly beautiful neighbourhood. I mean, come on, it's right in the centre of Lausanne!! City centre with all the ornate building decor.. what more could u ask.

What's more, the building has an open rooftop and you can walk out onto the roof and overlook Lausanne city!! Could also see the infamous Lausanne Cathedral from there. If only i had an open rooftop. hah

As a token for us helping her move, Tina made us a German lunch. Basically it's bread, eggs, meat (bacon, i think) and some spices all rolled into a ball and boiled, then lathered with delish gravy and carrots at the side. YUMMAFABULOUS! We also had really fragrant and aromatic white wine, which was made at her home..........???? I mean she has a vineyard at home, where there're also cherries and pears and apples and what-nots. How cool is that. Seriously.

After eating, we helped to move her stuff to her new place, with 2 cars. She had alot of stuff for just one person. haha. But she also had alot of interesting stuff. All these in the pics uploaded on Facebook. OH. She has 2 Pantone chairs!!! They are designer chairs btw, and worth more than anything i've ever owned. AND she got them @ 50 Euros for THREE of them from a family who didn't realise the value of these chairs. Totally awesome.

Well anyway after moving her stuff successfully, we had coffee, tea and orange juice near the Cathedral since her new place is near there. The most expensive glass of orange juice i've ever had. C'est très très cher!!! We sat outside a café, which was belle beacoup! Since it's a Sunday, the streets are quieter, which made the evening all the more laid-back and pretty. LOVE St Francois.

Well that coffee session marked the end of today. After today, i'm convinced that i want to work and possibly live in Europe if i can. Love the place, the people are real friendly, and really so much more.

Anyway went to Cook's and Jagger's (a club) last night. Hrm apparently they've got 2 kinds of clubs here. One which is like a daily kind of discotheque, where they play popular old-school rock songs as well as 70's songs, mixed in with several pop songs. Kinda cool, very different from Singapore's clubs.

Then there's the clubs where you may be denied entry if you look drunk or whatever other reasons. The kinds that are slightly elitist, and people go there more for the music, where famous and celebrated DJs make their appearances. Supposed to go for one this coming Sat where DJ Jaochim Garraud will be mixing. Wanna go but too tired of going every week. Hah.

School is beginning to be real fun. Getting to know more classmates everyday, and more and more invitations to people's houses! More local cuisine from our classmates. =)

J'aime beacoup Lausanne. =)

 School  is Great

I love school.. working with so many talented and famous designers. First week we worked with Alexis Georgacoupolos and Augustin Scott on the Swarovski project, went for photography class together and my tutor is Milo Keller, and for studio there'll be Christophe Marchand as one of our tutors. They seem so normal and unassuming. No airs about them too.

On another note, went to a bar with Mun's housemate and met some of his friends. Quite a small bar, beer wasn't that great, but the band was good. Actually it was a duo. Think they're English or American. They were singing songs by Oasis and Radiohead, like Wonderwall, and i can't remem what else. But i do remember i know almost all their songs. haha..

Came back from school early today, and didn't follow the other 2 to Lutry. Felt really tired, though not sure why. Slept enough last night. But anyway from their pics Lutry looks really pretty. Like the countryside u see in movies and tv. Will upload the pics on Facebook.

Alright off to do some work. oh yea bought a swiss flag.  will post that in Facebook too. can't upload here for some reason.
